What are pitches?
Pitches are film ideas. A complete pitch includes the name, premise, and reasons to make the movie, synopsis, and list of characters. You can browse WayWeSee Studios pitches here.
How can I create and submit my own idea?
First you have to either register and you receive access through your profile to your personal Pitch Manager. With the help of the Pitch Manager you can practice creating pitches. However if you want to get your ideas published you have to take part in at least one production voting by paying the required participation fee.
About your published pitch
We want to help you to get your idea and story made into a film. But we also want to do this in a fair manner, both for you, us and everyone in this community. We are completely open about the way the WayWeSee Studios operates, so no one will get ripped off! Once you've published a pitch on this website, it will remain in the published pitches list for 12 months. Exclusive rights will be transferred to the WayWeSee Studios for this period of time - so you can't offer your idea somewhere else during that time. We need this time to gather enough support from movie lovers around the world to get your movies into production.
However, if nothing happens with your pitch in 12 months, your idea will be returned to you for your review. You may choose to publish it again. Also, your pitch will be returned to you if it has been on a short-list for the same 12 months but didn’t get selected for production by your peers.
What if my idea is produced?
When your pitch is chosen for production, you will get a royalty of 1% from the film's gross points plus a signing fee!
Is my idea protected?
All submitted pitches are protected by copyright and we will enforce that on your behalf. Any copying, reproduction or commercial exploitation of your pitches by others is prohibited and may lead to legal consequences. The WayWeSee Studios is committed to protecting your ideas!
What are productions?
You can browse the WayWeSee Studios productions here. Productions are either on-going or starting movie projects which are in the Shortlist stage. You can see basic information about each production but if you wish to participate in it you have to pay the participation fee. After paying this fee you will gain access in following the production on a separate production page, talk with the movie makers and also participate in decsion making. Production usually consist of three stages: pre-production, filming and post-production.
How to participate in a production?
Pay a simple participation fee and you're on your way to being an executive producer!
What is a starting production?
In case a story hasn't been selected yet for a production there has to be at least a selected genre. This phase is called ”Shortlist”. From the pitches that have been selected to the Shortlist people can start voting to select their favorite story – after they have paid the participation fee.
After the shortlist voting is closed, the pitch with the most shortlist votes will be produced into a film. At this point the production of that film begins. The actual pre-production of the film is already on its way in this stage. The community gets to make several key decisions, such as the writer, director, actors... Eventually after pre-production the filming of the movie will be carried out. This is followed by post-production.
How stories are selected to the short-list?
The WayWeSee Studios shortlist process allows the community to first choose what the genre and budget of the film to be produced will be. After this the community chooses 20 pitches for a shortlist. The pitch that gets the most short list votes by closing time for the voting will move to the production phase and ultimately be produced into a film.
What is on-going production?
This is a production where the story is already selected. Story could have been selected either by the WayWeSee users or it can be a co-production with some production company.
Why is there a participation fee?
The participation fees are used to fund the actual making of the movies by the WayWeSee Studios – basicly you all make this possible through participation fees. 90% of the participation fees goes to production and 10% to run this service and to payment service companies.
What happens if there is a produced movie that makes profit?
Bear in mind that always when WayWeSee Studios produces a film funded by the community, all profits will be given back to the community as base funding for future films. We also do our share to help the world through charity donations. So you can really make an impact by taking part in our community! As a full member of the WayWeSee community you can participate in decision making related to productions, post your resume and film ideas! Please note that the completion of all movie projects is subject to a sufficient amount of participants and financial conditions.
